This year, manufacturers from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan took part in the contest.
171 samples from 53 manufacturers were submitted to the Expert Commission that comprised the best independent tasters from Russia and Belarus in order to identify the premium products: 101 samples of vodkas and special vodkas, 39 samples of distilled beverages and different alcoholic beverages, 31 samples of rectified ethyl alcohol made of food raw materials.
The awards were given in 13 main and 3 special categories (ECO Style, NEW Technology, and NEW Style). In the first case, the tasters evaluated the organoleptic product properties only; in the second, they took into account some additional criteria, such as environmental friendliness, maximum safety, and innovative nature of products.
